Sun-kissed in Seattle

Seattle holds a special place in my heart. My art journey began in Seattle. Before that, I enjoyed life as a Software Engineer in the culturally rich India and the East coast in the beautiful Canada. Then, an opportunity to explore the forever green PNW came knocking on my door. After moving to Seattle, I felt an innate urge to re-search and explore my creative side and my art training began. Now I happily call myself a full time artist painting color and geometry of nature, birds, flowers, faces in oils.

I thought of "Sun-kissed in Seattle"  as an interesting and meaningful title to my self portrait painting. The reason is, having the Sun out in Seattle is a rare but beautiful event. We have more rainy days in Seattle. Rain or shine, Seattle is always beautiful and inspiring me to paint!

An Engineer or Artist? Who am I?

Who am I isn't simply a decision, it is an exploration. A constant evolution of my being, gathering data, running experiments and repeat, the delight of finding wonderful surprises about self and the world is the best reward.

My career switch, my fascinating career transformation from an engineer to an artist taught me acceptance, patience.
Accepting my new interest, the change, the new direction. Patience while putting new efforts into learning something totally new, acquiring new skills.

Painting self portraits is an integral part of the journey. The Engineer turned Artist practicing the art of arriving, the art of being, the art of exploring.

On that thought, I would love to know about your journey of transition and exploration of your being. How are you excited about your career?
why does it make your heart sing?
